Muscle Car Shows
Muscle car shows are a car collectors dream. Classic Chevy muscle cars and other popular muscle cars can generally be seen, and most car shows are accompanied by a muscle car auction.
The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company hosts the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction
annually in Scottsdale, Arizona at the WestWorld event facility. This
car show and auction has its roots in a 1971 collect car auction held
by founders Russ Jackson and Tom Barrett. Today, Barrett-Jackson is a
significant cultural event in Scottsdale, bring in loads of business
and industry each year in January. The show and auction is also
televised on cable networks. As of 2005, all entries into the auction
have no reserve, thus the highest bidder at the auction is sold the
car, regardless of the final selling price. The highest auction for any
car was for a unique 1966 Shelby Cobra, which sold for $5,000,000. Due
to the prevalence of hard to find muscle cars, the Barrett-Jackson
Collector Car Auction is the world's premier muscle car show.
Another nationally acclaimed car show takes place each year in Michigan near Detroit, the Woodward Dream Cruise.
The Woodward Dream Cruise runs through most of Woodward Avenue,
beginning at Pontiac, Michigan and ending at the State Fair Grounds.
The show began as a tradition to celebrate the cars of the past,
especially muscle cars and other automobiles from the 50s and 60s. The
event is now the "largest one-day automotive event," with crowds as
large as 1.5 million people and near 40,000 vehicle participants in
this classic and muscle car show.
Classic car shows are a great
way to pay tribute to the wonderful vehicles of yesteryear, and they
also usually feature great food and entertainment that even families
can enjoy.
