Muscle Cars From 1964-1975

The muscle car generation was generally between the years of 1964 to 1975. This generation of cars produced between these years where not only known for their good looks but known for their overall performance ability. These are only a few great examples of muscle cars built between these years. In 1964, one of the first cars to carry the name of muscle car was the Pontiac GTO. The GTO went through many different engines and body style options and still is one of the great muscle cars even until today.

Ford was no stranger to muscle cars either. The Ford Mustang was another one of the great muscle cars of the generation. The Mustang quickly jumped to being one of the big boy muscle cars with models such as the GT500 the GT350 boss and the Mach 1. These Mustangs also had a wide variety of engines and many different body styles; the engine option ranged from the 289 cubic all the way to the monstrous 429 cubic V-8. Chevrolet had also their popular Camaro, arguably one of the most beloved muscle cars of all time. The Camaro came out in 1967 and it was the direct answer to Ford and the Mustang, which had been dominating the muscle car market. The Camaro, along with to Chevelle and the Nova, were also famous for their Donald Yenko designed versions. These cars had a 427 V-8 put in them and were among the fastest on the road.
