Popularity of Muscle Cars Today

Most of us love our cars. However, there are ones that have pride in a different kind of car and care for it like one takes care of a child. These are the owners of the muscle car, and as they cruise around town or go from car show to car show, they feel the power that only a muscle car can give.

Muscle cars began in the 60s, when big, powerful engines were put into cars. Many fell in love with them, and the love has never died. Or, they had one, but after the 1970s, with the gas crunch, they gave up their car for a more economical one. Now, these collectors have the money to get the car they had or always dreamed of. After all, many are shelling out hundreds of thousands for certain cars that are over 30 years old. Some are an excellent investment. For instance, the 1971 Hemi Barracuda can be bought for nearly 200,000 as a copy, but the original one can be worth over 200 million. How would you like that sitting in your driveway?

Some collectors are satisfied with copies of the original. These “resto-mods” are more modern, with better safety features, like safer seat belts and braking system. They want those upgrades. However, this is only about the muscle cars. Most of the collectors are satisfied with them, but cars from the 1950s, they want as originals. Collectors don't spend the big bucks because of what the car is worth, they pay the money because of what they feel for the car. Anyone walking around car shows can see the love they feel for their special car. It doesn't matter to them if they had it ever since they could drive or just bought it recently.
