What makes these shows so popular are the prices these cars go for. Collectors are not ashamed to pay millions for a car. One of the reasons for these prices is the rarity and completeness of the vehicle. For example, a 1930 Ford Model A with matching VIN numbers and original parts, sold for $20,000 while a 1959 Cadillac sold for almost $100,000.

Many collectors buy them not only because of their rarity, but also for their popularity. For example, a 1971 Plymouth Convertible can sell for over a million dollars. This is because it starred in a movie with Don Johnson and also there were only 11 made. Out of those 11, only seven were sold in the United States.
