Since the days of the James Dean movies, the muscle car has been the definition of power and the ever sought after adrenalin rush. Muscle cars of old are making a big come back and owners are taking great pride in restoring their beloved cars of their youth and showing them off, and even racing them against other muscle cars.

For the collector that has a wallet the size of a high performance engine, the muscle cars of choice are the Jaguar, Corvette, Cobra and Duisenberg. For the more average muscle car fanatic, the classic 1970 Barracuda is always a hit. On the same level as the Barracuda, bringing tears of joy to the eyes of an avid motor head, are the 1969 Firebird and the 1969 Road Runner. The Pontiac GTO is and was such a popular muscle car that Ronny and the Daytonas wrote a hit song about it.

The most popular muscle cars are the ones that were regular cars in their time that were beefed up for high performance driving and have lived on to bring back fond memories to their owners of the days when they were young and adventurous. When an over 50 baby boomer sits down in this refurbished 1969 Camaro Resto-mod, its like he’s in his prime again. The rush of youth, speed and competition are hard to remove from the memory banks.
